Mount Sunflower is a nice little diversion of a highpoint that is thoroughly welcome if you have just come from a climb on Elbert or Wheeler. Other than tha, it is hard to distinguish from the surrounding countryside. I DO commend the owners for keeping this accessible, and I appreciate the time that went into establishing the artwork that marks the highpoint. This is another highpoint that is distinguished by the people around it, rather than the geographic aspects.
The road to the highpoint is primarily dirt, and could give some probllems in inclement weather. It is well marked and easy to find when coming up from Highway 40.
