Hoosier Hill is a quaint little area in the extreme eastern part of Indiana that qualifies as the highest point in the state. Based on the pictures in Charlie Winger's book, we were anticpating a scramble over a fence and a little bit of searching. To our surprize, we found that someone had built a small park there and the are was very nice (and very clean). After checking the highpointing website, we saw that the park had been created recently.
There's not a lot to be said for the highpoint at 1257 ft. It was fairly easy to find (but that 3 ft ascent really tired us out!!!)
The book made a reference to contacting the owners about access, and we left a message, but given ease of access and parking area, I'm not sure if contacting the owner is still required.
