Day 4 - 7/3/2005 -  And on to the mountains...

Although its nice to be out on the road again, the miles are starting to get old, since we have been averaging over 500 miles per day with over 2100 miles on the trip thus far (at the end of the day).

Nebraska was nice, and with a speed limit of 75 mph we made good time. We drove past Lincoln, and headed on toward North Platte.  On the way, we spotted tanks and helicopters off of the road.  ROADSTOP!  We had come across a huge military museum, the "Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles".  Below are some pictures, but they have an AWSOME collection of just about anything you could think of (short of a B-52!)

The flatlands gradually gave way to rolling hills and thunderstorms.  As we approached Cheyenne,WY we could see a huge thunderstorm about 25 miles away across the plains.  When we settled into Ft. Collins it was 9pm, so we grabbed a cheap motel and relaxed from the all day drive.
