Day 15 - 7/30/2004 - Cool rain - warm friends

It was nice to sleep in a bed for a change, and the cool air of Lake Superior makes one sleep even better.  I awoke to the smell of Blueberry pancakes and bacon.  Since we have been breaking camp fast and early, a hot breakfast is something we have eschewed.  After breakfast, we went down to see about sea kayaking (Dave has beeen doing this on the lake for sometime, and Beth is now open-water certified.)  After discussing the options, we (Hunter and I) decided we would go ahead and do Eagle Mountain instead of kayaking (neither of us had much experience - esp. with 42-degreee water).  Our trip report for Eagle is below.

We took longer to make the hike and get back than we thought, and missed Dave and Beth.  They were planning to kayak up the shore and camp overnight.  They are wonderful folks, so I hope their trip is going well.

Again, a special thanks to our hosts for making a memorable trip even more special!!!!

P.S.  - Dave - I still would like to see the pics/slides from McKinley and South America next time we get together!!!
