Day 3 - 12/29/2004 - Mounting things in Clintonland...

Aside from Mount Magazine, I can't say Arkansas was a thrilling place.  It has a wealth of natural resources, but don't expect a Starbucks on every corner.  Arkansas is a state that is best driven through

We headed of to the highpoint early and were at the visitor center by 10:30 am CST.  I have to admit that Mt. Magazine (Signal Hill) wins the award for the nicest trailhead.  They have a great campground and a new visitor center.  It is obvious the folks in AR take great pride in this park.  You can see info on the highpoint by clicking here.

After Mount Magazine, we headed south for Louisiana.  The afternoon was just a long drive with us reaching a campground at Lake D'Arbonne about 6:30pm.  We set up in the dark, cooked some chili and rice, and settled in for an evening of "Go Fish".  We hit the sack early to get an early start (plus we were just bored)
